WILD NIGHT OF RACING WRAPS UP POINT SEASON AT SHANGRI-LA II
Tioga Center, NY - Jimmy Zacharias was the winner of the Sportsman feature, but John Wilber collected the track championship in the Sportsman division. Frank Morich only needed to get his car on track, which he did to take home the Pudgies Pizza Four Cylinder Stocks title. The hotly contested Street Stock title came down to a wild feature which was won by Chris Zacharias and which Jeff Goodwin claimed the divisional championship. Jimmy Zacharias completed his night's sweep of collecting hardware as he was the winner in the Modified division as Shangri-La II Motorspeedway, the ASA Member Track in Tioga Center, New York.

Lamoreaux Claims Late Model Title Dispite Dineen Win
August 18 - Jerry Dineen was the winner of the thirty lap Late Model feature, but Jim Lamoreaux claimed the 2012 Late Model Championship at the ASA member track by four points over Dineen. Sportsman rookie, Tyler Rypkema held off the close challenges of John Wilber and Tony Hanbury to collect his first ever Sportsman win. Gil Sharpsteen finally sorted out the handling problems which have plagued his efforts all season to claim his first win of the season. Gene Purvis outlasted Dayton Cote to claim his first ever win at Shangri-La II in the Pudgies Pizza Four Cylinder Stocks. A very pleasant late summer night greeted the fans and competitors at Shangri-La II Motorspeedway in Tioga Center, NY.
August 11 - Concrete Kicks Asphalt
(Tioga Center, NY) - Racing action on the fast ½-mile concrete oval that is Shangri-la II Motor Speedway was contested on a beautiful "Concrete Kicks Asphalt" Saturday night. When it was over a pair of drivers celebrated repeat wins while another pair celebrated career-first wins in their divisions. Jimmy Zacharias (Candor, NY) got win #7 in the Sportsman Modified division and it was #2 this year for ASA Late Model driver Scott Nurmi (Lakeview, NY). Maine, NY's Chris Zacharias, who had won previously in the Late Models, scored his first in the Street Stocks. And it was a career-first Shangri-la II win for 4 Cylinder ace Frank Morich from Horseheads, NY. With the season winding down the championship chases are very much on the minds of many. The battles continue this Saturday on Family Fun Night.
