Public Autograph Session, Twin Match Races Highlight "Night of NASCAR Stars" Saturday, Aug. 7th; Full Race Program also on Tap

Fans will get a chance to take home autographs from four of stock car racing's biggest stars- Rusty Wallace, Kenny Wallace, Matt Kenseth, and Sunday's Pocono Sprint Cup race winner Greg Biffle- on Saturday night, August 7 at Shangri-La II Motor Speedway. Then they will watch Biffle, Kenseth, and K. Wallace perform behind the wheel of ASA Late Model cars in a pair of match races while Rusty handles the microphone.

All of this comes in addition to the regular four-class ASA Member Track racing program for Modifieds, Late Models, Sportsman Modifieds, and Street Stocks which hits the track for heat race action at 6:00 p.m.

The tentative schedule calls for the special guests to complete their VIP responsibilities early in the evening to clear the way for a full hour autograph session behind the main grandstand while racing continues on the track.  After a break to allow the NASCAR stars to be fitted to their ASA Late Model rides, they will take to the high-banked half-mile concrete speedway for hot laps at approximately 8 p.m., followed by two 8-lap match races with an inversion at the break.

The post-race ceremonies are likely to be memorable. No matter where he finishes, Kenny Wallace is sure to have something outrageous to say when interviewed by his brother Rusty, and Biffle will still be energized after the Pocono victory ended a long drought for him, for Roush Racing, and for Ford.

There's plenty more to come under the lights, as the Modified feature will see the battle for the track championship between Jimmy Zacharias and Jim Storace resume after a two week break.  Scott Nurmi and Lee Sharpsteen have moved to the front in the ASA Late Model and Street Stock point races respectively, while Jimmy Zacharias holds a commanding position in the Sportsman Modified ranks as he seeks to win two titles in one season.

Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and practice for the regulae classes is at 4:30 p.m. on the "Night of NASCAR Stars." For ticket information, including VIP packages, visit or call 607-330-2622.
