Tioga Center, NY – Shangri-La II Motorspeedway in Tioga Center, NY is pleased to announce the formation of two new divisions which will join their line-up of competitive classes for the 2012 racing season. The ASA member track, also known as "The Concrete Castle" will launch 4 Cylinder Mini Stock and 4 Cylinder Junior Mini Stock classes which will compete with the regular weekly divisions. Work is also on-going to encourage growth in the 4 Cylinder Truck class as well. "We have been listening to the comments from the fans and competitors" said track manager, Amy Stilson. "The 4 cylinders were a welcome addition to the 2011 Fall Brawl and provided exciting racing. We believe we will be offering something for everyone next season and are excited about our line-up of competition. We are in talks with officials from The Race of Champions Modified Tour for two and possibly three events with them. We are also talking with other touring series with the hopes of bringing in other exciting race series for special additions to the program". In addition to the weekly competition, track owner, George Swansborough is developing a division for The Fans. Six cylinder Trucks are being built for the fans to come out of the stands and become a driver for the night and see if they can conquer the concrete in a track owned truck.
Work is continuing towards finalizing the schedule for the 2012 season of competition. The schedule is anticipated to be released in the near future.

Division Descriptions:

The Following Weekly Divisions are new for 2012!

Those planning to race in the following divisions for the 2012 Season will receive a FREE 2012 Track License ( Driver Only) if registered before December 31, 2011

4 Cylinder Mini Stocks – This class is designed to for the entry level person to have the opportunity to experience the thrill of racing, as well as for the experienced driver to be able to race and who cannot afford the more expensive classes. No modifications can be made to the vehicles except for safety items.

4 Cylinder Mini Stocks – Junior Division – This division is restricted to juniors ages 12-17 years of age. Developed to encourage young adults to get involved in racing and develop their skills.

4 Cylinder Trucks – Built specifically to EST truck rules, this is another economical division for the casual racer to enjoy and hone their skills.

Rules packages for the new classes as well as updates for our existing / returning classes are being reviewed and finalized. They will be posted to the Rules section of the official track website. Keep an eye on the track's website or Facebook page for future announcements.
