"CHALLENGE THE CHAMPIONS" Charity Event to benefit theSpalding Foundation for Injured Drivers, Inc. & Al Robinson
Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 7- 10pm. Seneca Grand Prix Go-Kart Track. 2374 State Rt 414 , Watkins Glen, NY . (1 mile from Watkins Glen Int'l-Gate2)
The Spalding Foundation for Injured Drivers, Inc. would like to extend an invitation to participate in the 2nd Annual "Challenge the Champions" charity event to benefit the Spalding Foundation and our good friend Al Robinson. Drivers from the local, regional and national levels of racing are invited to join us at this time to pit their driving skills against the “fans” of racing, who will be attending the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend at Watkins Glen International Speedway
Proceeds from this charity event will benefit the Spalding Foundation for Injured Drivers, Inc. and Al Robinson. Al has supported the Spalding Foundation for many years and we will take this opportunity to return his kindness by sharing the proceeds from this event with him. Al is well known for his many years of announcing/media/Pr capabilities at Dover International Speedway and numerous other racing facilities.. Al suffered a debilitating stroke in May of 2011 and has since been at the Elderwood Care Facility in his hometown of Waverly, NY. After more than a year, needless to say, medical expenses have mounted. Through his hard work with physical therapy, Al has come a long way, and with the help of the racing community, we hope for a full recovery for our good friend. Your help would be very much appreciated to make this event a huge success!!
Jason Bonsignore, owner of the Seneca Grand Prix Go-Kart track, has generously offered the use of his facility for this charity event. In addition to the go-kart challenge, a "SILENT AUCTION" of racing memorabilia will also take place at the event (accepting cash or personal checks for pymt) , items signed by Dale Jr; Scott Dixon; Kyle Busch; Bobby Dragon/Dale Earnhardt Sr; Larry McReynolds; Bobby Allison; Tony Stewart; Juan Pablo Montoya; Jeff Gordon; Ken Schrader; Sam Bass; 35 signed NASCAR Hero Cards; and many more items!
