The fourth edition of "The Fall Brawl" is just a couple days away, and the excitement toward the event is greater than ever. The Fall Brawl is the season closing program at Shangri-La II Motorspeedway in Tioga Center, NY. This year's edition is scheduled for this coming weekend (September 21 – 23, 2012). "We have had some of the best competition in the history of the track this season, and we want to celebrate that accomplishment with the drivers, teams and fans who have supported Shangri-La II in 2012 and the past four years" said track manager, Amy Stilson.
The Fall Brawl weekend kicks off on Friday evening with an Open Practice for the classes scheduled for competition. The gates will open at 3:00 pm on Friday with cars on track from 4:00 pm until dark. Saturday, September 22 will feature the Sportsman, Street Stocks and Legends Cars. The Sportsman will be running a 75 lap feature, the ultra-competitive Street Stocks in a 50 lapper and the Legends Cars appearing for the first time this year in a 20 lap feature. The gem of the night will be the return of the Silver Dollar race. The Silver Dollar race is a 15 lap event for Shangri-La II Street Stock regulars who did not place in the top 5 in final season points. Following the on track action on Saturday, there will be a Pit Party which is open to anyone with paid admission to the track (Spectator, Driver, Crew) featuring a Pig Roast and non-alcoholic beverages supplied by the track. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to pass. The action continues on Sunday September 23rd with the Late Models, Pudgies Pizza 4 Cylinder Stocks and the RoC Modifieds. The Late Models are scheduled to compete in a 50 lap feature; the 4 cylinders will run a 30 lap feature and the Race of Champions Modifieds will close out their season with a 100 lapper.
Grandstand admission on Saturday is just $15.00, Sunday Grandstand is $20.00 or a combo 2 day admission is just $30.00 (a $5.00 savings). Kids under fifteen are admitted free.
Saturday – the Pit gate opens at 2:30 pm, Grandstand gate opens and Hotlaps begin at 4:00 pm. Racing gets the green flag at 6:00 pm. Sunday - the Pit gate opens at 10:00 am, Grandstand gate opens and Hotlaps begin at 12:30 pm and racing begins at 3:00 pm.
Come on up and get your campsite set-up and enjoy a full weekend of on-track action at "The Concrete Castle" as camping is always FREE at Shangri-La II
